Yes, it's true! You can receive the benefits of acupuncture without any needles! Full disclosure, many people do gain more benefit from the stronger stimulation of needles, but for those who are exceedingly needle-sensitive or averse, this is a wonderful opportunity to get treatment. Depending on your personal situation, we may recommend laser acupuncture, microcurrent stimulation, ion pumping cords, magnet therapy, tuning forks, "Shonishin" (a Japanese-derived system that uses small metal tools to treat the acupuncture pathways without the use of needles) or acupressure. You may also consider cupping therapy. *These sessions are considered follow-up treatments, therefore an initial (non-insertive) acupuncture session must be completed first to allow for a thorough intake and exam for new patients.
