Cosmetic Acupuncture/Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (aka "cosmetic acupuncture") is fast becoming recognized as a wonderful alternative to more invasive and potentially hazardous cosmetic treatments available nowadays. These natural, safe treatments can improve a variety of imbalances that manifest in the complexion and face/neck including puffiness, sagging, scars, dullness, wrinkles, acne and various signs of aging.

Much like body acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture addresses the imbalances of an individual. We believe that optimal health is not limited to how you feel, but also in how you appear. With improved blood and Qi (pronounced "chee")/energy circulation, many cosmetic complaints can be greatly improved, allowing for a graceful aging experience.

What to Expect

Your acupuncturist will familiarize herself with your health history before your initial appointment, upon completion of the required online forms. At your first session, you will discuss your history and health/cosmetic goals with your practitioner and she will propose a treatment plan for you. You will get a shortened facial acupuncture treatment during this first visit.

The best protocol for facial rejuvenation acupuncture is generally comprised of 12 consistent weekly visits for full benefit, followed by monthly or bi-monthly maintenance visits.

You will also receive body acupuncture during these sessions, so please wear loose, comfortable clothing that can easily be adjusted to expose the lower legs and arms (where needles are often applied). General body acupuncture will enhance the overall flow of Qi and blood throughout the body to assist in addressing the root cause of many cosmetic concerns.

The treatment involves the use of sterile, ultra-thin needles applied to the indicated areas of the face and neck. As well, several body acupuncture points will be gently stimulated. Depending on your individual needs, a variety of other services may be included in your treatment at no additional cost, including:

*Red light/near-infrared therapy

*Far-infrared/mineral heat therapy

*Gentle facial cupping

*Gentle facial gua sha (jade or rose quartz)

*Facial rolling (amethyst or rose quartz)

Microneedling (aka collagen induction therapy) is an AMAZING restorative technique that may be added to your initial session. We highly recommend this treatment to just about everyone seeking cosmetic improvements. The AcuLift Derma Roller device is required for this service (a one-time additional cost will be added to your treatment) and you will be instructed on how to use your dermaroller at home for continued benefit. The AcuLift Derma Roller is the only device of its kind approved by the American Acupuncture Council (AAC) and meets the highest standards for our purposes.

The function of microneedling is to create tiny punctures (micro-traumas) in the skin's surface to stimulate cellular activity, which enhances collagen and elastin production, as well as promoting cell turnover and healthy circulation of Qi and blood. This can result in the reversal of many signs of aging, as well as preventing future cosmetic concerns so that you may enjoy a natural, vibrant look at any age.
